1. Low coolant level. One of the primary reasons for engine overheating in Kuga is a low level of coolant or antifreeze in the cooling system. Coolant plays a critical role in regulating the engine’s temperature by dissipating heat. When the coolant level is low, there is not enough fluid to absorb and transfer heat away from the engine.
If the spark plugs are firing at the wrong time, or something has happened to cause the camshaft to no longer be in sync with the crankshaft, your Kuga won’t start. There will usually be OBDII codes associated with timing-related problems, but not always. P0013 is a common camshaft position-related code. The crankshaft sensor can go bad as well.
The sensor is in charge of making sure the crankshaft is turning at the correct speed. If the shaft is not working right You will notice many potential problems, including stalling, shaking, rough acceleration, and the check engine light coming on.

The Haynes manual doesn't say much other than the A/C compressor might have to be replaced. This is a 2000 Expedition. Remove belt. Remove bolts on A/C compressor, and let it drop down a bit. Remove single bolt on crank sensor, and remove. Reverse order to button it up. No need to remove any A/C lines, etc. Thanks JL. That doesn't sound bad at all.
Here's how I did it. My 97 5.0 has the tow package / tranny cooler which is kind of in the way. (0) Prepare to get really gicky. (1) Remove the serpentine belt (15mm on the tensioner) (2) Remove the tensioner (2 @ 10mm). Go ahead; just do it now. (3) Clean all the glop off the crank sensor that so you can actually see it.
Ford Model: Focus Zetec 1.6L Automatic 2005. Posted May 3, 2016. My wife owns a relatively low mileage Focus Mk2 (68k miles) with Auto gearbox. At the weekend she returned from a shopping trip and advised me "the engine is making a ticking noise". When I lifted the bonnet and asked her to start it, I was horrified to hear a noise like a ball
