There is no fix. BO2 doesn't have its own internal volume control for the mic. Sorry. There is a workaround though, but it would involve setting up a virtual microphone device and configuring BO2 to use its own with a patch in from the physical microphone. A rather unwieldy setup and I don't recall ever getting it to actually work.

Also make sure your hardware can actually run the game. Im assuming however you have already checked that. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly what causes some computers to work and others not. Hopfully your able to find a fix for your issue. 1. SnakeKafuu. • 1 yr. ago.

Once I get to the main menu there is literally no sound, I checked the game settings and everything is all the way up. I tried other 360 games and they all work fine. Only Black Ops 2 seems to be having sound issues. 1. First go into Steam settings and see if your microphone is working. Click on the test microphone button and start speaking, the highlighted bars should start going up/down depending on the loudness of your voice. I know bops 3 has done that to me before. Everything's at max volume. I looked through some threads. Some were saying validate files. Others (if you were using mod tools) said something about editing files to fix it. Another (mod tool one) said to uninstall the game and your tools then reinstall them again.
