I would like to chip in a minute, I own a 2019 AWD Mazda 3 hatch, automatic, and on 87 gas, I get 26 mpg on the freway, and on 91 gas, I get 32 mpg, and thats been a constant, same route, same time of night, with AC on, same speeds, there is a mpg difference, and i have been doing this for 6 months now, and the engine idles smoother too, power

I am thinking there is a way to fool the O2 sensor so that the ECU thinks that the ratio is running too lean and adds more fuel allowing the ERG valve to be taken off. I think this would add a gain of about 15 to 20 horses.

When I test drove the car, 2.0 seemed more fun to drive, since it revved much easier. 2.5 feels torquer, but more sluggish, more like a diesel. I did not feel any lack of power with 2.0 with 2 people in the car. However I got 2.5, simply because I wanted certain options that were not available on 2.0.
