About this Flavor. In 1985, to make a name for ourselves in New York, we picked a New York kind of name and created a flavor packed with more kinds of chunks than ever before. We figured if the flavor was euphoric in New York, it would be everywhere. It was, and it is. Certified Gluten-Free.
Inspired by Ben & Jerry’s popular classic banana, fudge and walnut “Chunky Monkey” ice cream flavor, the colorway is a playful take on the frozen confectionary purveyor’s signature pint pail. Whisk in 1 cup sugar, a little at a time, then continue whisking until completely blended, about 1 minute more. Pour in the cream and whisk to blend. After 1 hour cooling in the refrigerator, stir the kiwifruit into the egg, sugar, and cream mixture. Transfer the mixture to an ice-cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer's instructions.
