Hello there. My ceed 1.6 crdi wont start at all. Turn over as should wont start. No glow plugs light. No immo light. No check engine light. Is in 4th garage right now and they give up Everything check no problems found. Even got another ecu with same number. I have been reading about a power loss/hiccup with the 1.6 crdi engine in the pro_cee'd section of this forum, and it may be worth asking about a low fuel pressure fault which is apparently caused by a design flaw in the fuel filter causing bubbles of air in the high pressure side of the fuel system. This problem makes the engine management 1) There is a switch in the assembly, by adjusting this position, has allowed the clutch to raise higher providing the full length of travel. 2) The Master cylinder arm fixing the the clutch pedal arm is threaded, and once again can be adjusted to take out any play in the operation. I would imagine a number of Kia models may have a similar set up.

There's not any real issues with the 2.0 just the fact that it is an older engine than the 1.6, not massively faster, and has not only a particulate filter, but a cam belt and a dual-mass flywheel, all things to potentially go wrong that the quieter and smoother 1.6 of that age doesn't have.
