I think the issue was that I was using the Zepp Life app as I imported my model before it was available outside of China and the Smart Band 7 wasn't available in the Mi Fitness app at the time. So yea, just reset the band to find it's now available in Mi Fitness and the experience is already 100 times better. So yea thanks for the advice!
