I can't find a vendor that will buy them, what city should I be looking at? I'm only a few hours in, so something I can actually get to. edit Nevermind, literally 10 seconds after posting I talked to the Kahjit sitting outside Whiterun. 11. 6.
Assuming you have an unpatched version, at the gates of Whiterun, turn to your right and look for the slight outcropping. There's a single wooden barrel sitting upright on the ground on the far left site and across from it is the top of the wall. You have to stand on the edge of the barrel and jump to the right side of the outcropping and over
1. Talk to a merchant and ask what they have for sale. 2. The menu will come up, and you'll see their name and relevant item categories available above a line, and below that line you'll see your character's name and item categories. 3. Scroll down to your character's stuff, then press E while looking at the item (s) you wish to sell.
Whiterun: Whiterun is a bustling city known for hosting a multitude of merchants, making it a prime location to sell your items. If you have a surplus of goods to unload, simply visit Whiterun and sell them to each merchant until your inventory is empty. You can also store additional items in your house in Whiterun for future selling.
Yeah unfortunately this is why a lot of mods exist to change vendors to give them 10k gold or to level speech more quickly. I would level speech to get to the point where you can sell any item to any vendor (it's a perk) and do tours of the major cities (whiterun, solitude, riften, windhelm) and hit up every vendor you can.
Just leave your stuff in there while you fast travel and sell what you can. Then go and get the rest and sell it everywhere you can sell it. Fast travel back and repeat until you've sold everything. Whiterun, I think, has four places you can sell armor and weapons. Warmaiden's, selling the finest weapons armor, has two vendors with separate cash.
